The Beautiful Change of Life

Menopause

Does it seem like ever since you hit your mid-to-late 40s or 50s you just haven't felt the same?

If so, you have probably read or heard by now that you may be approaching menopause.  Post-menopause occurs after you have not had a period for 1 year, peri-menopause is the time before that when you still have a period (though it may be irregular) but you notice symptoms of weight gain, hot flashes, sleep disruption and/or fatigue, just to name a few.  These issues result from hormonal changes your body experiences during this time, and can often be resolved by using natural approaches including lifestyle changes, diet, natural supplementation and/or bioidentical hormones.

If you are unsure of what the right approach or combination of approaches is for you, then let our Naturopathic Doctors help!  We have long standing experience treating women with menopausal concerns and can present you with up-to-date information and resources that will help you to feel your best during this beautiful change of life.

The First Step - A Complete Assessment

Often the menopausal symptoms result from issues on top of the regular/to be expected drop in female hormone levels.  Stress very often acts as a compounding factor that needs to be assessed for and addressed if present. Other issues related to a poor lifestyle or other hormone issues involving the thyroid can play a role as well. During your initial assessment all of these potential problems will be assessed and if additional testing is indicated over and above what has already been done, we will advise you accordingly.  Additional testing may include comprehensive hormone testing through the blood or urine and the pro's and con's of each will be discussed.

A Customized Treatment Plan

Once the core issues have been identified, your naturopathic doctor will formulate a treatment plan for you that includes one or a combination of the following naturopathic treatments:

The Result?  Benefits of working to balance your hormones naturally often includes an improved sense of mental wellness and energy levels, improved sleep, decreased mental fogginess, optimal weight and better stress management skills leading to an improved sense of fullfillment and self-empowerment.
