What is Spiritual/Transpersonal Psychotherapy?
Spiritual Psychotherapy or Transpersonal psychotherapy is an approach to therapy which tries to do justice to the whole person including mind, body and spirit. It represents a broad range of therapeutic methods. Each method recognizes the self-healing capacities of the client. It involves encouraging the individual to discover the deep core of who they really are.
Carla is trained to work with similar issues as psychologist but the approach is different. The focus is on the unconscious relationship patterns that evolved from childhood and how they affect current thoughts, behaviors and emotions and humanistic therapies, which focus on self-development, growth and responsibility in the 'here and now'.
Carla practices a form of 'integrative' therapy; she draws on a wide range of therapeutic methods and techniques based on spiritual insights and experience, to help individuals recognize their strengths, creativity and choice.
Carla has been working with people in a therapeutic environment since 2002 as a massage therapist and as a psychotherapist since 2010. She has a profound understanding and compassion for the work it takes to go on a spiritual journey to healing and awareness. Through the psychotherapeutic process and doing inner work, Carla believes that the Self can feel like home. She has deep compassion for the courage it takes to do this inner work, and has been witness to the shift and growth it can have. She believes true health is not just about the physical body, but about wellness of our mind, spirit and emotions. Because our deepest humanity resides in our Spirit!
Carla is also a certified Reiki level 2 practitioner.
