What is a Ligament Tear?

Ankles and knees are most often affected by ligament strains or tears. A ligament tear is when the ligament rips or has tiny tears in various locations on a ligament.

What causes it? 

Many athletes have experience torn ligaments, it occurs when a ligament is twisted or over stretched causing in a tear.

What are my treatment options? 

Keep the injured ligament elevated, cool it with ice and make sure to rest it for a few weeks it can take between 8 to 12 weeks before returning to your normal physical activities.
