FOCUS AREAS

Massage therapy treatment aims to develop, maintain, rehabilitate or augment physical functioning, relieve tension and pain as well as enhance the well being of the client. Your massage therapy treatment will have a therapeutic effect and improve your health by acting directly on the muscular, nervous and circulatory systems.

Outside of the massage therapy world, Jaclyn has worked as a veterinary assistant since 2001. She has a special passion for animals and feels that they can make any persons life happier by giving their unconditional love. She encourages any animal stories her patients would like to share; the good stories always make her day! Jaclyn is also interested in all aspects of natural health including regular exercise and being active daily. Some of the things she enjoys most is spending time with family and friends and listening to her favourite music.

Jacylin Ursini Registered Massage Therapist

Jaclyn Ursini

Jaclyn graduated from Elmcrest College in 2009 as a registered massage therapist and has been practicing since that time. She enjoys working with a diverse group of people from the casual relaxation treatment to the more complex neurological conditions (i.e – MS, muscular dystrophy, ALS, etc). During her clinic hours in massage therapy school, she worked in a facility for mentally challenged adults. This was an incredible experience that allowed her to look into the minds patients who were unable to formerly communicate. From this experience, she also learned advanced techniques and communication skills that were used to relieve these patients pain and discomfort in a respectful way.

She primarily uses deep tissue massage techniques but takes great care to ensure the pressure she is using is right for the patient. This is done by taking into consideration her clients tolerance for pain as well as their ability to interpret sensation.

Most of Jaclyn’s experience as a massage therapist has been spent working in a physiotherapy clinic, also located in Vaughan. This has given her the opportunity to treat patients with multiple conditions. In the next 5 years Jaclyn is eager to become an even better therapist by taking continuing educational courses that will provide her with advanced manual therapy skills.

Jaclyn enjoys her occupation most when she can bring someone from a painful or dysfunctional state to a state of comfort and relief by using her treatments and techniques.

What to Expect on Your First Visit

Your massage therapist will require you to fill out a health history form. Afterwards the therapist will begin by asking you general questions to establish what areas you would like worked on, if there are any conditions needing to be addressed and to determine if massage is appropriate for you. Your massage therapist may perform certain assessments and testing to evaluate your condition, and to see if you have any presenting complaints.
